My name is Karma, and I'm a livejournal addict.  I co-mod or maintain or assist at this group, on an MSN Tarot group, on an MSN Thelemic group for local folks, and on a Yahoo group for curanderismo.  That right there probably says a lot about my interests and current areas of activity.

Lifetime study and interest in folklore, mythology, and folk magicks.
Rootworker.
Serviteur of the loa in a syncretic, "New World" mode.
Thelemite.
Martial artist (Shaolin, so roots in Chan Buddhism).
Background in ceremonial magick and Western hermeticism, though I started out working with herb and rootlore and folkways in my youth and have increasingly spent more time over the years returning to those, er, roots lol -- getting my hands dirty and doing more scrying, energy work, work with the loa, and dreamwork and less time wearing a robe and chanting things in Greek -- though I still do some of that too :-)
Currently working with synods of other autocephalous Bishops in the Southeast on some of the Bertiaux materials, particularly mapping and actively experimenting with the points chauds system of empowerments.

The livejournals of TAG, myself, heosphoros, actadiurna, wishingwell111, peristera, and a couple of others you'd pick up on from the comments. TAG's journal is a good place to start -- follow the lj tags. I have a wee bit of info, and some collected posts and notes in a very long Word document, that you can access from the link in the sidebar of my journal, "My Work in Gnostic Vodou." I have the decent beginnings of background research into "points" in Haitian vodoun in general, but they're still buried in a longer document about Zora Neale Hurston that is of little interest, probably, to teh magickal community at large. ONe of these days I'll put up the revision. I can send you the link if you want -- it's got a decent works cited list.

The noise-to-signal ratio of the VGW for points work is rather high, imo, if you're interested in info on the points first and foremost, but the preliminary system is discussed somewhat in there. The work we're doing is a direct result of later work that TAG did with Webb and others and for that you have to go to the source, and most of it is on his lj. From there you can get a very nice PDF that actadiurna put together that delineates, in very abbreviated form, some of the core concepts.

Also, the prelim info is back up on TAG's website. Maybe start there first, I think.
